Satpol PP Prioritizes Appeals For Not Taking Action On Illegal Tin Mining Practices On Jerangkat Beach, Babel

The joint team brought order to the tin ore wild mine on Jerangkat Beach, Parittiga District, West Bangka, Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel).

"We are controlling this to preserve beaches that have extraordinary natural beauty so that tin ore illegal mining activities are not damaged," said West Bangka Satpol PP Head Sidharta Gautama in Mentok, Friday, May 19, as reported by Antara.

According to him, Jerangkat Beach in recent years has become one of the mainstay tourist destinations in West Bangka because it has natural beauty.

However, he continued, the beauty and beauty of the coast, which is still natural and new at the development stage, is threatened because of tin ore illegal mining activities using the pontoon mining pattern.

Responding to this problem, he said, the West Bangka Regency Satpol PP together with the West Bangka Police, the Parittiga Police, the Indonesian Navy Posmat Parittiga, and assisted by local residents carried out control.

"We have met with the miners and we emphasize that we should immediately leave the area," he said.

He said the miners had been given an appeal as well as a warning and if they did not comply, then his party together with other law enforcement officers would take firm and directed action in accordance with applicable law.

"If the appeal is not heeded by the miners, then we together with other law enforcement officers will take firm action," he said.

In addition to destroying the Jerangkat Beach area, he said, these activities violate mining regulations and could potentially cause disturbances in public security and order.

Bangka Island, which has many beautiful beaches and other tourism potentials, needs to be maintained and preserved so that future generations can enjoy the natural beauty they have, he said.

"Through this control, we hope that illegal mining activities can be resolved and the beauty of Jerangkat Beach can recover," he said.
