Minister Of Communication And Information Johnny Plate Detained For Corruption Case, Surya Paloh Gathers Elite NasDem

Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh gathered his party elite at NasDem Tower today. The meeting will be held after the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) who is also the Secretary General of the NasDem Party Johnny G. Plate was detained by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

"I just received a call from the general chairman, and went straight to the DPP, just waiting for his direction," said Benlaha Umum of the NasDem Party Ahmad Sahroni at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 17.

This meeting, called Sahroni, will discuss Johnny's legal case. However, he could not give a leak yet.

"Certainly (related to Johnny Plate's legal case, ed)," he said.

Similarly, the chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Willy Aditya also admitted that he was contacted by Surya Paloh after hearing the news that Johnny was a suspect in a corruption case. So, he doesn't want to talk much about the detention of his colleague.

"Just got a call from Mr. Surya. I have to go to the DPP first. Of course, coordination with Pak Surya and DPP will be like what we are," said Willy in Jakarta.

Previously, Johnny G Plate was immediately detained after the Attorney General's Office (AGO) named him a suspect in a corruption case in the procurement of base transceiver station (BTS) infrastructure on Wednesday, May 17. He was initially examined as a witness.

Johnny's detention began with a number of examinations. One of them is related to the flow of money to his younger brother with the initials GAP in the case of alleged corruption in the provision of 4G BTS infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the 2020-2022 Kominfo Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti).
