Minister Of Communication And Information Johnny G Plate Becomes A Corruption Suspect, The Attorney General's Office Immediately Searches The Office House And The Ministry Of Communication And Information

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) searched the offices and official residences of the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate.

The search was carried out after the NasDem politician was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case of the 4G BTS project and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in 2020-2022.

"Furthermore, after we conducted the examination, we are currently conducting a search at the residence of the person concerned at the official residence of the Minister of Communications and Informatics and at the Kominfo office," said the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office, Kuntadi to reporters, Wednesday, May 17.

The search was carried out in order to find additional evidence. Especially regarding the flow of funds and other parties involved.

In addition, the investigation of the allegations was also carried out by continuing to dig up Johnny G Plate's information.

"The results of this examination will of course we will follow further investigations to see if we can still develop this case or not," said Kuntadi.

Johnny G Plate was named a suspect. He was immediately detained at the Salemba detention center at the Attorney General's Office for the next 20 days.

In this case, Johnny G Plate was charged with Article 2 and Article 3 of the Corruption Crime Law, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, in the case of alleged corruption in the 4G BTS project and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics in 2020-2022, the total loss to the country reached Rp8.32 trillion.
