Cak Imin Was Given A Wejangan On The Economy By Boediono

Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin said he received advice about the economic sector from the 11th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Boediono.

Cak Imin said he was given long-term thinking about economic problems by the former vice president for the 2009 '2014 period.

"Alhamdulillah, today he (Boediono) gave a lot of input on economic thinking because he is a very successful figure in overcoming two crises at once, the '97' 98 (and) crisis in 2008," said Cak Imin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

In addition, Cak Imin said he got an overview of the tips in facing global economic challenges from the meeting.

"And of course I am given halalbihalal time as well as getting an idea of our caution regarding this difficult economic challenge in the future, especially global economic conditions that are indeed difficult and we must face it well," he said.

Cak Imin assessed that Boediono was a person full of experience. He admitted that he learned a lot from Boediono's experience, from before until the time Boediono served as vice president of the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

"His extraordinary experience is a lesson for me, for all of us. As economists, academics, then entering the government, meeting politics, becoming vice president. It's amazing, the lessons that don't end, Mr. Boediono," he said.

Cak Imin admitted that he did not discuss much about political contestation with Boediono in the one-hour meeting.

"He (Boediono) always doesn't talk about politics, 'I don't participate in politics'," said Cak Imin with a laugh.

Meanwhile, Boediono said he did not give Cak Imin much advice on politics. According to him, Cak Imin is an experienced politician.

"He's a politician who has extraordinary experience, I'm not in the right place to give advice," said Boediono.

Before visiting Boediono, Cak Imin had visited several senior politicians who had or were serving as vice presidents.

Previously, Cak Imin visited the 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla on Saturday (6/5), the 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as Nahdlatul Ulama figure Hamzah Haz on Thursday (11/5), and the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia who currently serves as Ma'ruf Amin on Monday (15/5).
