BOGOR - Perumda Tirta Pakuan Bogor City immediately moved the pipeline around Jalan Jembatan Otista Bogor City to support the revitalization program of the Otista Bridge.

The relocation is planned to take place in mid-May 2023 after the construction of the bridge is temporarily completed.

It is known, there is an AC-type distribution pipeline with a diameter of 15 and AC 6 installed under the 34-meter-long bridge.

The pipeline was built from the Colombo Plan Program in 1970, meaning that 53 years of the pipeline has been installed to supply clean water needs for the people of Bogor City.

This bridge is one of President Joko Widodo's access to the Bogor Palace.

According to the Technical Director of Perumda Tirta Pakuan, Bogor City, Ardani Yusuf, the distribution pipeline owned by Tirta Pakuan will soon be moved.

His party has also coordinated with the Bogor City Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Office for the transfer of the two pipes.

"By not disturbing clean water services to the community, especially in the Tegallega, Tegal Manggah, Babakan, Cidangiang areas, IPB Complex, New Bogor and its surroundings," said Ardani Yusuf, Tuesday, May 16.

The pipeline relocation plan will be carried out in two stages. First, the temporary suspension of the AC 6 pipe and the construction of a temporary bridge for the AC pipe diameter 15 along with the relocation of the pipe. Second, the construction of permanent bridges for the HDPE 6 and HDPE 16 pipes.

In this activity, Perumda Tirta Pakuan also changed the AC pipe to an HDPE pipe with a length of 250 meters.

"We continue to coordinate with PUPR to realize the first activity plan, PUPR must immediately build a temporary bridge so that we can relocate the AC 15 pipe. Because if the pipe is not relocated, it will hinder the construction activities of the Otista bridge. To relocate as a whole, we are waiting for the construction of the security pipeline to be completed," said Ardani Yusuf.

He will also continue to coordinate with the PUPR Service so that the Tirta Pakuan pipeline is not disrupted by demolition activities, because the supply of clean water in existing pipes is still ongoing.

"Like what happened a few days ago, when our pipe had a problem, it could be repaired quickly. But we hope that incidents like that don't happen again during the revitalization process," said the former Technical Planning and Supervision Manager of Perumda Tirta Pakuan.

The Otista bridge construction activity lasted for eight months, starting in May and is targeted to be completed on December 8, 2023. During the bridge construction process, the Otista road will be closed.

The construction of the Otista bridge was carried out because there was a bottleneck or road narrowing, causing congestion around the Tugu Kujang area.

"Based on the study, there is no other choice but to widen this bridge to smooth the flow of traffic and it is important for Bogor residents to adjust, as long as the Otista road is closed, there will be traffic diversion," said Bogor Mayor Bima Arya.
