About To Wash Clothes, Women Died In Pulogadung: Allegedly Due To Leaked Electricity

JAKARTA - Rukiah (65) an elderly woman was found dead after being electrocuted by water toren electricity while washing at her home, Pulogadung area, East Jakarta. Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated by officers from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Gulkatmat).

"Information from the nurse, the mother (the victim of the house) wants to go to the bathroom to soak her clothes. It is possible that the mother is holding a toren pole that has a source of electrical leakage," said Pulogadung Sector Oleton Commander, Hery Widy, Sunday, May 14.

Gulkarmat officers who arrived at the location immediately evacuated the victim's body around the water toren. During the evacuation process, the electricity in the house had been extinguished by PLN.

"We received information from the reporter that there were victims who were electrocuted. Then we launched from the Gulkarmat Sub-dept. and coordinated with the police and PLN to ensure that there was no leakage or safety. So that we immediately evacuated the victims," he said.

It was later discovered that the victim was electrocuted when he was about to wash clothes on the second floor of his house. PLN officers also checked and found it true that there was a former prop of electricity on the iron pole of the water toren.

"After being checked by PLN officers, there was a former electricity on the pole. The 65-year-old female victim had been taken to the RSCM," he said.
