JAKARTA - Atalia Praratya Kamil, wife of the Governor of West Java, M Ridwan Kamil decided to enter politics with a list of candidates for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives in the 2024 General Election, from the Golkar Party.

"Mrs. Atalia has her own capacity, is smart, her education is higher than mine, her doctorate, activists, so she has her own capacity. And so far, she has given her life to society and humanity," said Ridwan Kamil, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 13. Atalia Praratya, who is familiarly called Mrs. Cinta, registered as a candidate for DPR RI member for the Electoral Area (Dapil) One West Java, which includes Bandung City and Cimahi City.

Ridwan Kamil said that one of Atalia's goals in entering politics is to make her life more beneficial to the wider community. "So entering the party has an aspiration to bring its benefits to the national policy level. So choosing to devote her thoughts to the National level. So that the most appropriate one as a member of the DPR," he said. Governor Ridwan Kamil emphasized that the reason Atalia chose the Golkar Party as her political vehicle was not on her orders or influenced by her "And I never appointed, only gave pluses minuses of her wishes. According to Ridwan Kamil, his wife Atalia had gone through a long process of thinking, before finally deciding to run as a legislative candidate.
