Army Chief Of Staff Adds PDL And Ransel Shoes To Attack TNI Soldiers On Duty To Papua

JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman added a number of equipment for TNI AD soldiers who will go to Papua to support their duties in the area of operation.

Head of the Information Service of the Indonesian Army (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Hamim Tohari said additional equipment support from General Dudung was to make the soldiers more prepared while on duty in Papua.

"This is not in the context that the TNI Headquarters does not fulfill it, but there are equipment that makes soldiers more comfortable and more ready to move there. For example, in the mountainous area the terrain is rocks and even there it often rains; now it is equipped, plus the Army Chief of Staff support PDL shoes, including maybe later supported by assault backpacks," said Hamim when met at the TNI AD Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday, May 12, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the operation needs of the soldiers had been provided by the TNI Headquarters as the controller of operational duties. However, there are several equipment that needs to be adjusted to the conditions of the area.

"The operational index is supported by the TNI Headquarters, but there are several additional equipment that makes soldiers more comfortable in their duties. Yesterday's example, Mr. Kasad gave support for shoes, shoes which are expected to be really comfortable to use for the same field of operation as those in Java," he said.

Since last April, Dudung and his staff have toured a number of unit headquarters to check the readiness of soldiers to be dispatched to Papua.

Several units were met directly by the Indonesian Army officials, including the Raider 300/Brajawijaya Infantry Battalion in Cianjur, West Java; Infantry Battalion Para Raider 433/Julu Siri in Maros, South Sulawesi; Infantry Battalion 726/Tamalatea in Bone, South Sulawesi; Para Raider Infantry Battalion 330/ Tri Darma in Cicalengka, Bandung, West Java; and Raider Infantry Battalion 310/Kidang Kencana.

The departure of a number of troops to Papua was to replace the soldiers who had served for nine months or more on Earth of Cendrawasih. The assignment is a follow-up to the order of the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono regarding the rotation of troops in Papua.
