TERNATE - The River, Lake and Crossing Transport (ASDP) stated that the loss due to the collapse of the port of the Bastiong Ternate ferry, North Maluku, which was hit by KMP Mutiara Pertiwi I owned by PT ALP reached tens of billions of rupiah.

It is known that on Wednesday (10/5/2023) yesterday, PT ALP's KMP Mutiara Pertiwi I crashed into BM Pier 01 at the Feri Ferry Ferry Ferry Port in Bastiong, Ternate City, it is suspected that the ship lost control.

The incident at around 15:48 WIT that caused a commotion among residents and prospective passengers around the port did not cause any casualties.

As a result, the connecting bridge, which was mostly made of metal, collapsed and fell into the sea and on the left side it was still hanging.

However, there was an error during maneuvering, the ship's speed did not decrease and the current conditions were fast enough to hit Pier 1. There is currently no confirmation and official news from the captain because the ship was evacuating by ship to the docked location.

Based on information from the BPTD through the service unit at the scene, it was purely a mistake in the movement of the crew.

Currently, the service is still carried out using one dock, BPTD will carry out schedule engineering for the smooth running of crossing services and accidents, further inspection will be carried out according to the procedures for checking ship accidents.
