NTB Ministry Of Religion Records Oldest Hajj Pilgrims Age 102 Years And Youngest 18 Years

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of West Nusa Tenggara said the oldest Hajj pilgrims from the Lombok Embarkation who will depart this year are 102 years old and the youngest is 18 years old.

"For this year, the oldest pilgrim is 102 years old and the youngest is 18 years old," said Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Ministry of Religion of NTB, Zamroni Azis, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10.

He said the oldest pilgrims were 102 years old on behalf of Muhammad Jinambar, a resident of Langko Daye, Langko Lingsar Village, West Lombok Regency who was born on July 1, 1920.

Meanwhile, the youngest Hajj pilgrim aged 18 years on behalf of Anisya Umiturahmania, a resident of Pejarakan, Ampenan, Mataram City, was born on August 12, 2004.

"Especially for the youngest pilgrims, they replaced their parents who died. And they are the heirs," he said.

Zamroni stated that the total quota of pilgrims from NTB who were about to leave for the holy land of Makkah was 4,499 people.

"Of that number, about 5 percent or 225 people are elderly pilgrims and there are 163 additional pilgrims including five officers," he said.

These pilgrims, said Zamroni Azis, will depart in 12 groups. Where they start entering the Hajj dormitory from June 6 to June 20, 2023.

The first batch of Lombok Embarkation will depart on June 7 and batch 12 on June 21, 2023. Meanwhile, returning to Indonesia for the first batch on July 19 and batch 12 back on August 2, 2023.

"For batch 12 this is a mixture between NTB and Aceh pilgrims," explained Zamroni Azis.

According to him, before the schedule for the departure of the pilgrims, they had already received Hajj rituals in each district and city. In fact, the pilgrims also received eight Hajj rituals at the sub-district level.

Regarding the planned departure of these pilgrims. His party has coordinated with local governments, both provincial and district and city. This includes the security forces, both the police, the TNI and Immigration.

"This is our effort in providing the best service for prospective pilgrims from NTB, because our Hajj quota has returned to normal after COVID-19," he said.
