Review Of Sriwijaya Air Post SJ-182, Jokowi Asks For Flight Control To Fly

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo visited the JICT II Integrated Command Post, which became an emergency post for the evacuation of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Wearing his trademark clothes, white shirt and black trousers, Jokowi went to the Basarnas and TNI AL to ask for information about the SAR operation to search Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 today.

Reflecting on the case of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane crash, Jokowi asked all relevant agencies to conduct inspection and supervision of the aircraft that will fly.

"I want that in the field of transportation, safety is the main thing. Therefore, I ask to be followed up immediately, both by the KNKT and the (Ministry) of Transportation, especially the inspection and supervision of planes that will fly for the safety of the community, for the safety of passengers. "Jokowi said at the location, Wednesday, January 20.

Continuing, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi also reported the development of the search for SAR operations on the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.

Budi said, currently the black box with the type of flight data recorder (FDR) that has been found is currently being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC).

"FDR has been found and has been successfully opened by the KNKT to obtain further information related to the investigation of the cause of the accident. Hopefully, the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) can be found soon to complement the investigation by the NTSC," said Budi.

Budi said, currently the KNKT has also established a new post on Lancang Island to facilitate search operations.

"This is also needed to reveal the causes of accidents and prevent similar incidents in the future," he said.

For information, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane was declared to have crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands, to be precise between Male Island and Lancang Island on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Data compiled by Basarnas on the eleventh day of search, namely Tuesday, January 19 at 20.30 WIB, explained that there were findings of 324 body bags containing body parts.

Then, as many as 115 aircraft materials were found, with the details of 63 small bags containing aircraft debris and 55 large aircraft pieces.

Currently, the SAR team has also found a black box type flight data recorder (FDR) and a black box cockpit voice recorder (CVR) shell. Meanwhile, CVR core memory has not been found.

Based on the findings of the SAR team in the form of body parts and properties belonging to the victims, the National Police's disaster victim identification (DVI) team has identified 40 victims as of Tuesday, January 19 at 17.00 WIB.
