MEULABOH - The provincial road section on the route of West Aceh Regency - Pidie Regency, precisely at kilometer 78 in the Sungai Mas District area, West Aceh Regency along Sunday cannot be crossed due to part of the landslide road.

"There were no casualties in this disaster, but the provincial road access was cut off," said West Aceh BPBD Pusdalops Coordinator Mashuri to ANTARA, Sunday, May 7.

He explained that the landslide on the mountain cliff caused access to transportation on the route of West Aceh Regency-Pidie Regency, so far it could not be crossed.

According to him, the impact of the natural disaster also resulted in four-wheeled vehicles including public transportation not being able to cross the provincial roads that connect the east and west coasts of Aceh, due to the narrow road section.

Mashuri said the landslide that occurred in the area was thought to be due to the high rainfall that has occurred since the last few days.

The disaster has now also been reported to related parties, in the hope that road damage due to landslides can be handled immediately.

"The status of this road is a provincial road," said Mashuri.

West Aceh BPBD appealed to the public to always be vigilant when crossing mountainous areas during the heavy rainy season, because it is very prone to potential natural disasters.
