Bareskrim Unloads 20 Years Of Illegal Cosmetic Production Practices

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri has uncovered cases of the manufacture and sale of illegal cosmetics. This syndicate has been in action for the last 20 years.

Director of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Krisno Halomoan Siregar said in this disclosure a woman with the initials R alias I was named a suspect.

"The suspect's confession has been running his business (manufacturing and selling) for 20 years by employing several employees," Krisno said in his statement, Tuesday, January 19.

Krisno said that the illegal context in this case was because the suspect did not have a distribution permit. In addition, some of its products have expired distribution permits.

Suspect R also does not have pharmaceutical expertise. However, the suspect remains determined to produce cosmetics.

The disclosure of this case, continued Krisno, stems from the information about illegal cosmetic production being circulated to beauty salons around the North Jakarta area. So, the information is followed up.

Right on Wednesday, January 13, the police also raided the IVA Skin Care beauty salon in the Penjaringan area, North Jakarta. The salon is said to be selling illegal cosmetics online. The raids discovered various illegal cosmetics.

From these findings, the police developed it. As a result, the police found an illegal cosmetic production site. The factory is a house located in Pejagalan Village, North Jakarta.

"There were found chemicals (precursors) and machine tools that are suspected of being used to produce illegal cosmetics," said Krisno.

In addition, the Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that all illegal cosmetic products were initially distributed to various beauty salons. But gradually these cosmetics are sold online.

"These cosmetics were distributed from the suspect's IVA Skin Care salon. Then they were sold online," he said.

As a result of his actions, suspect R is suspected of having committed a criminal act in the health sector for producing and airing pharmaceutical preparations in the form of several cosmetic products as referred to in article 197 subsidies Article 196 UURI Number 36 of 2009 concerning health.
