JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 in Bogor Regency, West Java Province, designated all sub-districts in the region as the red zone for the transmission of the corona virus.
"All sub-districts in the red zone, obey health protocols, make it a habit to live cleanly," said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin as Chair of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in a written statement in Cibinong, reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 19.
Since January 16, 2021, two sub-districts that are still in the orange zone status, namely Rumpin and Tenjo, have changed their status one by one to the red zone as their residents have been confirmed positive for COVID-19.
The reason is, since the last three days the increase in COVID-19 cases in Bogor Regency has been fairly high, reaching 97 new cases per day. In contrast to what happened in 2020, where the increase per day is only about 30 to 50 cases.
As of Monday, January 18 evening, the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force recorded 6,753 cases of COVID-19, 5,773 cases recovered, 79 cases died, and 895 cases were still active.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Irwan Purnawan, said that even though all sub-districts have a red zone status, the national COVID-19 Task Force still listed Bogor Regency as the orange zone for COVID-19 transmission.
"The methodology is different, if we set a red zone based on the presence of residents in the sub-district who are actively positive for COVID-19, while the national task force is based on many factors, one of which is the ratio of the population," explained the Head of the Bogor Regency Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo).
