BRIN Will Take Action If It Is True That Its Members Harassed Muhammadiyah Regarding The Determination Of Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H

JAKARTA - Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Laksana Tri Handoko stated that he would process ethically if the researchers were proven to have threatened Muhammadiyah residents just because of the difference in the determination of 1 Syawal 1444 Hijri.

"If the author of the comment is confirmed by ASN BRIN, according to the regulations in force, BRIN will process it through the ASN Ethics Council, and after that it can be continued to the Civil Servant Disciplinary Sentence Council in accordance with PP 94/2021," said Laksana Tri Handoko in a statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Monday.

Previously, there was a lot of discussion on social media regarding the difference in the determination of 1 Syawal 1444 Hijri. A person suspected of being a researcher from BRIN with the Facebook account name Andi Pangerang Hasanuddin commented on a link written by another BRIN researcher, Thomas Djamaluddin.

Initially Thomas commented that Muhammadiyah was disobedient to the government's decision because it was different from the determination of Lebaran 2023.

The link from Thomas was commented on by Andi Pangerang Hasanuddin with the Facebook account Ap Hasanuddin with a cynical tone and threats to Muhammadiyah residents.

Tri Handoko explained that currently BRIN is checking the information and status of the comments authors who are troubling the community.

Confirmation steps, he said, were taken to determine whether the situation was true for ASN in BRIN or not. If it is proven that the person is a BRIN researcher, institutionally it will immediately take action against him.

"Currently BRIN is checking the truth of the information," he said.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police followed up on viral comments about the threat of Muhamamdiyah residents because it was different to celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri/2023 with the government.
