Swab Results Require Isolation Continued, Khofifah Canceled To Jember Distributed Flood Aid

SURABAYA - The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, canceled the distribution of flood disaster relief directly to Jember Regency. The reason was that the results of Khofifah's follow-up swab were still positive for COVID-19.

"Because of the results of the swab, I still have to continue my independent isolation. Finally, the distribution of all aid to the evacuation posts, family representatives and several Islamic boarding schools affected by the floods was represented by BPBD and the East Java Provincial Government Social Office," said Khofifah in his statement, Monday, January 18.

Khofifah has been undergoing independent isolation for 17 days due to being exposed to COVID-19. Khofifah himself has had two further swab tests since he tested positive for COVID-19 on January 1, 2021.

"He is still in independent isolation, as far as I have already had two further swab tests," said the spokesman for the East Java COVID-19 Task Force, Makhyan Jibril Al Farabi.

But Jibril asked the media to directly ask the Manur Mental Hospital President Director Mochamad Hafidin Ilham, as the person in charge of the results of the Khofifah swab. "Try asking him, who handles it directly (Swab Khofifah, red)," he said.

Despite being self-isolated, Jibril ensured that Khofifah's health condition was good and prime. Because, said Jibril, Khofifah is still a person without symptoms (OTG). "That's right, Alhamdulillah, at this time the Governor is still without symptoms, activities are still very active, full of enthusiasm and fit," he said.

In fact, said Jibril, during her independent isolation, Khofifah actively engaged in independent activities, such as washing clothes, cooking, exercising and feeding cats. This activity was also shared by Khofifah through the official Instagram social media account @ khofifah.ip.

Khofifah is also intensely coordinating in the East Java provincial government affairs. "Even now he is still active in virtual meetings and coordination," said Jibril.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Menur Mental Hospital in Surabaya, Mochamad Hafidin Ilham, was reluctant to comment when he was confirmed regarding the two follow-up swab test results since Khofifah was positive for COVID-19. Ilham said he did not have the authority to convey the results of Khofifah's swab.

"I don't have the competence to answer," he said simply.
