JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian spoke about the election of the Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit, as the sole candidate for National Police to replace Idham Azis. He said Listyo was a firm figure, so he was considered ready to be number one in the Bhayangkara Corps.

"Pak Sigit is very firm, he is very firm. So, I am of the view that Pak Sigit is very much ready to become the Chief of Police. And I pray that the process will run smoothly, and I pray that he can carry out this mandate well," said Tito at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Central Jakarta. , Monday, January 18th.

As a former National Police Chief for the period 2016 to 2019, Tito admitted that he knew Listyo well. This is because his former subordinates had held two strategic positions, namely the Banten Police Chief and the Head of the Propam Police Headquarters.

Furthermore, Tito said that when he held the two positions, Listyo had never failed him and had a good track record. Not only that, Tito also expressed his praise for Listyo's performance when he became Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

So, reflecting on his achievements during his tenure, Tito assessed that Listyo's young age would not affect his performance if he later sat down to replace Idham Azis.

"All of us witnessed how his performance was, so I feel that even though Pak Sigit is young but mature. He is mature enough in his regional, territorial experience, long experience in staff, and also experience in the field of Serse, Kabareskrim. strategic in the Police, "said Tito.

As previously reported, the People's Representative Council (DPR) received a Presidential Letter regarding the name of the candidate for Chief of Police of the Republic of Indonesia.
