Uproar In Gresik, Police Hounding Hoax Spreaders Kasdim 0817 Killed After Receiving Vaccines

JAKARTA - The Gresik Regency Police, East Java (Jatim) is hunting for perpetrators who are suspected of spreading hoaxes about the death of Kasdim 0817, Major Sugeng Riyadi after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Kapolres Gresik AKBP Arief Fitrianto when confirmed in Gresik said that his party had coordinated with Kodim 0817 regarding the hoax information.

"From the coordination, we confirm that it is not true. The information is irresponsible, and has been widely circulated since Sunday night on a number of social media," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, January 18.

Apart from social media, this information is also widely circulated among Gresik Regency officials.

"Currently, the Criminal Investigation Unit is conducting a search to reveal who first spread the hoax information," said Arief.

He said the team that was moving was the Gresik Police Satreskrim Tipiter Unit by carrying out an investigation to reveal who the hoax spreader was.

Meanwhile, based on the official statement of Kasdim Major Inf Sugeng Riyadi, it is recognized that he has implemented the synovac vaccine at the Ibnu Sina Regional Hospital, but is currently in good health.

Meanwhile, in the hoax information that was spread, Kasdim Mayor Inf Sugeng Riyadi was informed that he had died after carrying out the vaccination, and circulated via short messages in a chain.
