Yaser And Ardi Arrested By Police Disguised When Selling Stolen Motorcycles Through Social Media

JAKARTA - Pasar Minggu Police arrested two perpetrators of motorcycle theft while selling the results of their actions through social media. "We arrested two perpetrators on behalf of Yaser and Ardi at Saturday at 23.00 WIB," said Pasar Minggu Police Chief, Kompol Rusit Malaka when contacted in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, April 16. The arrest began when the police investigated the disappearance of a Honda Vario motorbike because it was stolen in the Depok area, West Java, on Saturday, April 15. The police also found the stolen motorbike being sold on social media. "We found black Vario motorcycle transactions without license plates, without being equipped with letters through social media for Rp. 3,600,000," he said. The police finally disguised themselves by acting as potential buyers. After communicating, they agreed to meet in the Pasar Minggu area. The police immediately arrested the two perpetrators at the location. Based on the results of the development, the police also confiscated 11 motorbikes suspected of being the result of theft. The 11 motorbikes have been taken to the Pasar Minggu Police to be used as evidence. Until now, the two suspects are still at the Pasar Minggu Police Station for further investigation. Rusit stated that it was possible that there was a major syndicate activity of motorcycle theft behind the arrest of the two suspects. He added that the two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft and Article 480 of the Criminal Code concerning Detention with a penalty of more than five years in prison.
