SOLO - The Solo City Government anticipates congestion at a number of points in the city following the prediction of the high number of travelers on this year's Eid. Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that in the city, one of the focuses of attention is on the crossing of the Nongko Market. "We are pursuing the Nongko Market," he said in Solo, Antara, Thursday, April 13. Based on observations in the field, there is an expansion of the route from Manahan to Hasanudin Street. The expansion is by flattening the buildings in the corner of the road. In addition, he said, routine road maintenance was also carried out. It is hoped that these efforts can minimize accidents due to potholes. "Regular care continues every day," he said. However, he said, there are several major roads that cannot be passed normally following the construction which has not yet been completed. "It's like the Gilingan Viaduk, it's just May. The Joglo Cross is also still long," he said. Previously, the Surakarta City Transportation Service would also focus on monitoring the traffic jams during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period in 2023. Head of the Surakarta City Transportation Service, Taufiq Muhammad, said that several points will be the focus of supervision, namely in tourist attractions such as the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Solo Safari, and trade centers.
