KemenPPPA Appreciates AG Ex-Girlfriend Mario Dandy's Legal Process In David's Persecution Case

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) appreciates law enforcement officials processing AG (15), children who are in conflict with the law or child perpetrators in the case of mistreatment of David Ozora.

Deputy for Child Special Protection of the Ministry of PPPA Nahar said that so far the authorities have considered Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (UU SPPA) against AG.

"We appreciate the ranks of law enforcement officers (APH) who have carried out a fast legal process against children who are in conflict with the law (AKH) in accordance with the SPPA Law. We will continue to provide protection and assistance in every judicial process," he said in Jakarta, Friday, April 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

AG is suspected of participating and being involved in a case of severe abuse planned by suspects Mario Dandy (20) and Sean Lukas (19) against victim David Ozora (17) on February 20, 2023.

Polda Metro Jaya has detained and named Mario Dandy and Sean Lukas as suspects, while AG is being held at the Social Welfare Administrative Institution (LPKS).

Nahar said the legal process against AG was proceeding quickly in accordance with the SPPA Law with the limitation of the detention time as referred to in Article 33 paragraph (1), that detention for investigation purposes was carried out for a maximum of seven days and could be extended by eight days.

As for the detention for prosecution, the public prosecutor can make detention for a maximum of five days and can be extended for five days.

Meanwhile, in the interest of the examination at the court hearing, the judge can be detained for a maximum of 10 days and extended to a maximum of 15 days as stated in Articles 35 paragraphs (1) and (2).

"We fully submit the legal process of this planned criminal act of severe persecution and entrust it to APH in imposing appropriate punishments. We urge all parties involved to continue to follow the best principles of interest for children," said Nahar.

After the trial of the charges, through his attorney, AG, who is the ex-girlfriend of the suspect Mario Dandy, read out a memorandum of defense (pledoi) on Thursday 6 April and a verdict on Monday 10 April. AG was charged with Article 355 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
