Homecomers From Lampung Are Predicted To Increase 5 Percent, Provincial Government Adds 20 Reserve Buses

LAMPUNG - Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) estimates that travelers from Lampung will rise 5 percent during the 2023 Eid holiday. Anticipating that 20 agglomeration reserve buses will be prepared.

"In the Lebaran 2023 homecoming, it is predicted that inter-city inter-provincial or inter-city road transportation in the province will increase by 5 percent from the previous year," said Head of the Lampung Provincial Transportation Agency Bambang Sumbogo in Bandarlampung, Thursday.

He explained that the realization of passengers using the mode of transportation in 2022 was 15,877 passengers, and in 2023 there were estimated 16,681 passengers.

"With the prediction of the increase, there will be an additional 20 agglomeration reserve buses with a capacity of 600 passengers," he said.

He continued, for the readiness of the intercity intercity bus fleet in the province (AKDP) there were 376 units with a passenger capacity of 12,612 people.

"Then for pioneer transportation there are 24 units with a capacity of 579 passengers," he said.

He added that there are 86 intercity inter-provincial buses (AKAP) available, all of which are ready to transport travelers.

"With the available capacity, if there are no additional 20 spare buses. It can be said that road transportation in Lampung is ready to serve the 2023 homecoming transportation," he said.

According to him, with this readiness, road transportation in the area will develop with the plan to add 26 AKAP buses from DAMRI.

"So, of the 55 buses currently owned by DAMRI, there is information that in June there will be an additional 26 buses. So this can strengthen road transportation services in Lampung," he said.
