Update On COVID-19 Cases As Of January 13: Another Record, New Cases Reach 11,278

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 71,689 specimens were examined with 11,278 new positive cases of COVID-19.

The addition of new positive cases of COVID-19 has set a record for new positive cases. Previously, the highest new cases per day occurred yesterday, namely January 8, with 10,617 new cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 858,043 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, January 13.

Today's cases increased by 7,657 so that a total of 703,464 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 306 people and a total of 24,951 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 3,476 new cases and a total of 214,782 cases. DKI is the province with the most cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 1,755 new cases with a total of 102,340 cases. Central Java has 1,475 new cases and a total of 95,562 cases. Then, East Java has 815 new cases and a total of 95,064 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 2,952 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,068 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 745 recovered cases, and Central Java with an additional 730 recovered cases.

Then, there are two provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were Maluku and Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 8,063,068. In detail, 7,930,162 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 132,906 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The cumulative positive results per number of people examined or a positivity rate of 15.9 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 59,667 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
