Jayapura Residents Geger, Baby's Body Found In The Sampah Tong Of The Komba Sentani Bridge

JAYAPURA - Jayapura residents were shocked by the discovery of a baby's body that was dumped in a trash can next to the Komba Sentani bridge. Currently, the case of finding the baby's body is being investigated by the Jayapura Resort Police (Polres), Papua.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jayapura Police, Iptu Muhammad Rizka, said that the baby's body was found by a pig feed seeker on Wednesday, March 22, at 17.30 WIT. The man then reported to the police officers at the Pasar Lama Police Post.

"The baby body was first discovered by a leftover food seeker for pork feed named Gordi Tasman," said Iptu Muhammad representing Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen, as reported by Antara, Thursday, March 23.

"After receiving the report, our members led by the Criminal Investigation Unit together with the Inavfs Team, supported by members of the Pasar Lama Police Post, came to the location," he said.

He explained that the Sentani City Sector Police (Polsek) also immediately went to the location to secure and conduct a crime scene investigation.

"The condition of this poor baby is dead, still covered in blood and an uncut umbilical cord when found wrapped in a red plastic bag in a cardboard box," he said.

He added that so far his party is still investigating the perpetrator who had the heart to throw away the baby, members have also questioned a number of witnesses who are suspected of knowing the perpetrators of the baby disposal.

"After processing the crime scene, the Jayapura Police Inafis team took the baby's body to Bhayangkara Hospital for further examination and development," he said.
