JAKARTA - As of Tuesday, January 12, the search for passengers on the Sriwijaya Air flight from Jakarta to Pontianak with flight number SJ-182 which crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands found a number of results.

When at the location of the incident the SAR Team from various elements searched the passengers and the fuselage, while from the identification side, the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta worked to identify it.

The first passenger identified was Okky Bisma, who was a steward or flight attendent of the ill-fated plane, on January 11.

Furthermore, on Tuesday, January 12, the National Police Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team working at the National Police Hospital managed to identify three other people, namely Fadly Satrianto, Khasanah, and Asy Habul Yamin.

1. Okky Bisma (29)

Head of the National Police Inafis Center, Brigadier General Pol Hudi Suryanto, said that his party managed to identify the steward based on his fingerprints which were matched with the fingerprint data on his electronic identity card (e-KTP).

Initially, after this incident his party received a manifest or passenger list from Sriwijaya. From this list, the DVI Team obtained a list of e-KTPs from the Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs complete with all data including fingerprints.

Then, the DVI Team scanned the existing fingerprints through a special tool.

"When the fingerprint is affixed with the tool, it will enter the Dukcapil e-KTP and the candidates appear and we examine them one by one then we check on the manifest and Okky Bisma's name is on manifest number four," he said.

With this result, Hudi and his team confirmed that the body parts recovered from the scene belonged to Okky Bisma. Moreover, when scanning is done, there are 12 similarity points of the fingerprint.

2. Fadly Satrianto (38)

On Tuesday, January 12, the DVI Team managed to identify Fadly who was the copilot in the extra crew on this flight. It is known, this flight did carry a number of additional crews.

"This (Fadly Satrianto, red) is registered on manifest number 31 and this turns out to be the co-pilot of the Sriwijaya Air plane," said Head of Police Inafis Center Brigadier General Pol Hudi Suryanto at Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

Hudi explained, this certainty was based on the existence of 12 points of similarity in the body parts found with Fadly's DNA from East Java. In addition, this belief is also based on fingerprint examination.

"The comparison of fingerprints from the right index e-KTP that we have identified from the body parts we get is identical to 12 points of the equation," he said.

3. Asy Habul Yamin (36)

In addition to successfully identifying Fadly, the DVI Team also identified two passengers on this unfortunate plane. One of them is Asy Habul Yamin who is a resident of Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta.

He is said to have entered as a passenger and is listed at number 40 in the manifest. The identification of Asy Habul was done by matching the fingerprints on the body and the fingerprints on the e-KTP, as did the DVI Team when identifying passengers on behalf of Okky Bisma.

"From the fingerprints we took and the fingerprints from the e-KTP which became the database, this can also be identified by the discovery of 12 points of the equation, one of which is taken from the e-KTP, one is taken from the victim's fingerprint, the right thumb," said Hudi.

"So to identify it, which is easily taken from the thumb and index sample," he added.

4. Khasanah (50)

These passengers, said the DVI Team, were registered in the manifest at number 28 on the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 flight.

Khasanah who lives in Pontianak was identified after the team matched the fingerprints on the body with the data on the e-KTP and the results were 12 points of similarity.

"We have also compared the fingerprints on the right thumb between the ones on the e-KTP and the body parts of the body bags. Alhamdulillah we found 12 points of similarity so that they can be declared identical," said Hudi.

With the identification of these four people, the National Police Hospital admitted that it was ready to hand over to the family. However, this was returned to the family.

Jokowi asked for the rights of plane passengers to be taken care of by the Minister of Transportation

The passengers who were victims of the plane crash caught the attention of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). In addition to requesting that the search for passengers and aircraft be carried out immediately, Jokowi also ordered the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, to immediately take care of all the rights of the victims.

This was conveyed by Budi Karya after being summoned to the Presidential Palace to report the latest conditions related to the search for the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft.

"The President asked me to coordinate the service process to the families of the victims as well as possible and also provide assistance in obtaining rights from the families of the victims so that everything that is a right can be resolved properly and quickly," Budi said in a press conference broadcast on the YouTube account of the Secretariat. "We have called and together with Sriwijaya Air and Jasa Raharja yesterday met with their families and earlier together we headed to the hospital," he said.

Budi had visited the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta. During the visit he said he had asked Jasa Raharja to quickly carry out his duties to provide compensation to the families of identified passengers.

Previously reported, the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 plane on the Jakarta-Pontianak route had lost contact in the Thousand Islands shortly after taking off from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng on Saturday, January 9, 2020. Then, it was confirmed that the plane had crashed between Male and Male Islands. Lancang Island, Thousand Islands.

In total, the plane carried 62 people including 12 crew members and 50 passengers consisting of 40 adult passengers, seven children and three babies.

This search met a bright spot. The Flight Data Recorder (FDR) section of the black box or black box of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft has been found.

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said the discovery of part of the FDR was reported by the KSAL at around 16:40 WIB, Tuesday, January 12. At 14.00 WIB, according to the TNI Commander, the KSAL reported a fraction of the FDR black box Sriwijaya Air SJ-182.

The black box is an important tool to identify the causes of a crash. The Black Box installed on the aircraft is divided into two parts, namely the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR).

FDR is responsible for storing flight parameters for 25 hours before being overwritten with a new record. This information includes speed, altitude, time, and direction of the aircraft.

Meanwhile, CVR keeps conversations between the pilot and his crew or the control tower. The recording period is two hours, after which it will continue to re-record itself and overwrite the previous data.

Although this black box has been found, the search will not be stopped and this is confirmed by the Head of Basarnas, Marshal Madya Bagus Puruhito.

"The evacuation has not yet been completed, but there are still victims and body parts. Of course in the future we will still continue the search efforts in that location," said Bagus at the main command post to search for Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft at JICT2, Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Priok.

The TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto also conveyed the same thing. He also ordered his ranks to continue to search for victims and parts of the plane. This was done to facilitate the investigation of the cause of this accident.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the operation has not been completed. Because we will continue to evacuate the victims, including all the pieces of the aircraft body, we will also try to remove them and the aircraft body is in order to complete the data required by the NTSC," said Hadi.

Hadi believes the search process will go well. "I am sure that with professional work and supported by equipment available from Rigel and Baruna, we can also find a search for a cockpit voice recorder (CVR)," he added.
