JAKARTA - Head of the Koarmada I Underwater Rescue Service (Kadislambair), Marine Colonel (T) Wahyudin Arif, told of the search for a black box flight data recorder (FDR) that his team conducted until it was found.

Through uploading a live broadcast on the Instagram account @ koarmada_1, Arif explained that one of his team members found the underwater locator beacon emitting an ultrasonic black box FDR signal on Tuesday, January 12 at around 11.00 WIB.

"So, at that time the FDR had not been found. At the last hour, we were diving since 3 (in the afternoon). Alhamdulillah, we managed to find the black box at the last second," said Arif in Instagram @ koarmada_1 which was uploaded on Tuesday, 12 January.

Arif said, before FDR was found, his team searched for black boxes without using signal transmitters.

This is because the underwater locator beacon was first found in a state apart from the black box itself, both the FDR and the cockpit voice recorder (CVR).

However, the team believes that the black box is still not far from the underwater locator beacon discovery. Therefore, the team conducted a search by breaking down the plane debris one by one until finally the FDR was found.

"We are indeed the ones who have the task of combing the pile of debris. Because in the water there is a lot of debris piled up and scattered about. We are there to start breaking down one by one carefully. Alhamdulillah, thanks to the grace of God (FDR) we can find them. , "he explained.

For information, one of the black boxes or black boxes of the Sriwijaya Air SJ-182 aircraft, a flight data recorder (FDR) type, was found. The black box found by the Indonesian Navy's divers team was found on Monday, January 12 at 16:40 WIB.

The black box is put in a box and contains brownish water. Then taken by Sea Rider by several divers, including Kopaska and Dislambair.

Another black box that has not been found is the cockpit voice recorder (CVR). This tool contains conversations between the pilot and the crew and the control tower before the plane crashes.

The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) took the FDR to its office for analysis. The initial stage of the research was downloading the recorded data in FDR for the next five days.
