Losing Votes, Ciwaru Village Head Candidate Pointing Firearms At Sukabumi DPRD Member

SUKABUMI - One of the village head candidates attacked Sukabumi Regency DPRD member Ujang Abdurohim Rochmi, after losing the voting in the interim replacement election (PAW) for the head of Ciwaru Village, Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"The attack carried out by one of the candidates for the Ciwaru village head and his sympathizers have been suppressed, but we are still alerting personnel at the house of Sukabumi Regency DPRD member Ujang Abdurohim Rochmi to anticipate follow-up actions," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Maruly Pardede, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, 2020 March.

According to Maruly, currently, the conditions for the Ciwaru Election have returned to being conducive after the police and the TNI swiftly secured the situation at the DPRD member's house.

From the information obtained in the field, the attack was carried out by one of the three candidates for the Ciwaru village head due to the difference in the support given by Ujang Abdurohim Rochmi or known as "Batman Council" which in fact the village head candidate who attacked the Golkar Party legislator was also his own younger brother.

Contacted separately, Batman Council said that the attack that was carried out by the candidate for village head who is also his younger brother was allegedly due to the difference in the support given by him in this PAW regional election.

He explained that after the vote count, he was immediately visited by the candidate for the village head where at that time he was at his house. Suddenly, the losing head of the village candidate came carrying a rifle pointed directly at the Batman Council.

Suddenly he was shocked and immediately ran into the room. Not only that, his younger brother was also after Batman Council's wife. Anticipating tantrums from unscrupulous village head candidates and their sympathizers, he chose to shut himself in the room with his wife.

"When the incident occurred I was chatting with some friends and ustadz, and suddenly the losing candidate for village head came carrying a gun and pointed it at me and the others," he said.

Not only that, but after he and his wife entered the room, the candidate for village head was still raging while kicking the door several times to get in.

Ujang Abdurohim Rochmi suspects that the attack was carried out by the losing village head candidate because there were different choices, in which he chose another candidate. In fact, differences in choices in politics are commonplace, and losing or winning in elections or village elections is a natural thing.

From the information gathered, three candidates participated in the PAW, namely serial number 1 Sirojudin, serial number 2 Aris Irvan Haryadi, and serial number 3 Abdurohman Rochmi or better known as Bom-Bom. In the PAW election, Sirojudin won.
