Danrem 172/PWY: Residents Don't Be Afraid To Report If In Their Areas There Is A KKB

PAPUA - Commander of Korem 172/PWY Brigadier General JO Sembiring asked the public not to be afraid to report if there are armed criminal groups (KKB) in their area. "Don't be afraid to report their whereabouts (KKB) because the existence of these groups is troubling the community," said JO Sembiring to Antara in Jayapura, Monday, March 20. In fact, he said, the community could become victims if they did not comply with the KKB's request, so don't be afraid to report if there is a KKB in the area. The public can provide information through existing telecommunications facilities, such as SSB radio so that security forces can immediately help anticipate the disturbance. "Hopefully in the future the public will be more daring to report so that they can minimize security disturbances carried out by the KKB," said JO Sembiring. When asked about the threat to the people in Dekai by the KKB, Danrem 172/PWY confirmed the threat but hoped that the public would not be afraid. Security forces, he said, will try to protect every citizen so there is no need to be afraid of the threat of KKB. Specifically for security in Dekai, the security forces have been sent to Dekai to strengthen troops in the area. "The addition of troops has been carried out by the TNI and Polri so that it is hoped that the area will return to conducive and flights will return to normal," he explained.
