Cianjur Regency Government Asks Earthquake Victims To Cancel Contracts To Build Houses With Naughty Aplicators

Residents of earthquake victims in Cugenang District, Cianjur, West Java, feel cheated by the applicator who did not continue building houses after the SPR was signed

CIANJUR - The Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, asked residents to cancel contracts with rogue applicators who have yet to carry out work on the construction of earthquake victims' houses without clear reasons and ask residents to choose official applicators. Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman said that he had received many reports regarding applicators better known as contractors and architects of house renovation services from zero house construction for rogue earthquake victims. "We have asked the applicator to complete the work contract according to the house order letter (SPR) from earthquake victims in a number of sub-districts. In a number of sub-districts, many applicators have not been carried out, so residents cancel their contracts," he said in Cianjur, Antara, Sunday, March 19. His party asked residents to be more observant in choosing official applicators such as Rumbako, Domus, Riksa and Risha, who had been trusted to rebuild the houses of earthquake victims in Cianjur with earthquake-resistant construction. Meanwhile, about 19 homeowners in Sarampad Village, Cugenang District, canceled contracts with applicators or third parties to build permanent residences because residents were disappointed after waiting for two months after the signature of the house's SPR contract had not been built. "After two months the applicator only built the foundation section, until March there was no development, so we canceled the contract with PT SLJ which promised the house would be established within two weeks," said the earthquake victim in Sarampada Rusmana Village. He explained that after two months had passed until now, the applicator had never reappeared, while the other two applicators in the area had completed construction work on dozens of houses for earthquake victims. Even worse, after agreeing to propose construction to the same applicator PT SLJ two months ago, the rebuilding of the collapsed house belonging to Zaenal, a resident of Sarampad Village, has not been done at all while his neighbor's house is habitable. "Since the SPR's signature with a third party, the construction has not started. Even the neighbor's house that was built by a different applicator is ready to live this week. I decided to contract and switch to an applicator who has been running the work," said Zaenal.
