KUPANG - Timor's Generation Implementation Unit (UPK) PT PLN (Persero), the Main Unit of the East Nusa Tenggara Region, moved quickly to deal with fires in the Tenau Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) area in Kupang City, Friday, March 17.
"Our team has moved quickly with the firefighters to extinguish the fire in the fire incident in the PLTD area in Tenau," said PLN UPK Timor Ismanta manager when confirmed in Kupang, Antara.
He explained that the point of fire came from the damping material on the STREAM of PLTD IPP Coindo which caused flames and thick smoke.
When the hotspots appeared, his party immediately moved quickly to extinguish the fire with the Kupang City Fire Department, which immediately moved to the location so that the fire was successfully extinguished.
"Currently the fire has been successfully extinguished and we are still trying to check all equipment to make sure it is safe," he said.
The fire did not cause a disruption in electricity supply because the power generation engine was still operating normally.
Ismanta apologized for the inconvenience caused by the community due to the fire incident, especially causing panic among residents around the PLTD.
"We apologize for this incident and PLN continues to maintain the electricity supply to all customers well. We ask for your support and prayers so that everything goes smoothly," he said.
