Council Asks City Government To Move Bogor Residents To Be In Disaster-Prone Areas

BOGOR - The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Bogor City, West Java in coordination with the local government to immediately follow up on the transfer of residents in the black zone or very dangerous areas prone to disasters to residential safe areas.

"This incident strengthens our common knot that the city of Bogor has several areas that are very dangerous to live in and at that time we have given recommendations to map. Earlier, we heard that the Head of the Social Service had a map, actually, between black, red, yellow and green," said the chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Atang Trisnanto, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 16.

He stated that the DPRD came to the landslide location to express direct concern to the victim's family and thanked all parties who had moved quickly to evacuate several victims and tried to dredge up landslide material.

The Bogor City DPRD, said Atang, also wants to ensure that the steps taken by the city government at the emergency response for the past two weeks are quite good. The results of this Thursday's monitoring also show that all elements' efforts have been good.

"We see that the Social Service, BPBD and volunteers have moved quickly. So if we consider the emergency response to be running as expected, but this post-disaster stage has not been maximized, what is? Relocations that have not been running quickly and this needs our attention together with the city government, to immediately ensure that the black zone that has been mapped (residential residents) is immediately moved," he said.

He stated that he said that the DPRD would monitor the current disaster decision letter (SK).

He said, according to a report from the local Social Service Office, the location of the landslide of the earth-retaining cliff (TPT) of the Batutuli Station-Sukabumi railway hit five houses in RT07/RW04, Sirna Sari Village, Empang Village, South Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java on Tuesday (14/3) at 23.00 WIB, the mapping as a black zone has been entered.

"If the Head of Social Service said earlier, this is in the black zone. Everything has been moved, but this is what is left. Then he wants to be moved but this tragedy happened quickly," said Atang Trisnanto.

As of Thursday afternoon, four victims buried by landslides in Empang Village have not been found. They are Yuli (65), baby M. Yusuf (8 Months) is the son of Mustopa), Cucum (50) and Azzam (5).

The total number of victims in the landslide under the railroad cliffs in Empang Village is 17 people, 11 of them survived, two people have been found dead and four people are still buried.

Based on ANTARA's observation at the location, light to moderate rain began to fall at 16.40 WIB and a joint team to search for victims had attempted to enter heavy equipment or beko through the side of the railroad retaining cliff (TPT) to help with fairly thick materials at the landslide site.
