Successfully Breaking Halmahera Police Cell Room, 2 Escaped Prisoners Arrested

TERNATE - Two detainees who escaped from the cell of the Central Halmahera Police, North Maluku, on Monday, March 13, were recaptured in the early hours of the morning. Two prisoners managed to escape after breaking into the iron bars.

"Two DPO suspects named Asrul Masud alias Bagus and Alfitra Mansur alias Boboho have been arrested," said Central Halmahera Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Faidil Zikri quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 14.

He said that within 1x24 hours members of the Central Halmahera Police with the help of the people of Nusliko Village succeeded in capturing the two detainees who had escaped.

The first arrest was made of Alfitra Mansur alias Boboho on Monday night around 23.00 WIT and the second arrest was of Asrul Masud alias Bagus on Tuesday morning at 8.30 WIT.

"The arrest of the two DPO suspects was the result of the cooperation of the people of Nusliko Village and members of the Central Halmahera Police in the field who had been pursuing them since their escape until their arrest," he said.

The police chief appreciates the support from the community who have participated in assisting the police in the search for the two escaped detainees.

Currently, the two detainees have returned to the Central Halmahera Police Headquarters detention room for further examination and legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the iron bars in the detention room which were broken into by the two detainees have been repaired.

The two detainees who were recidivists in the theft case escaped from the detention room at the Central Halmahera Police Headquarters by bending and damaging the iron bars.

The escaped prisoner named Alfitra Mansur alias Boboho is a resident of Rawa Jaya Village, Tobelo District, North Halmahera Regency and Asrul Masud alias Bagus from Wosia Village, Tobelo District, North Halmahera Regency.
