PPP No Longer Hides Calls Erick Thohir The Most Popularly Promoted As A Vice Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir is said to be the most popular name to be promoted as a vice presidential candidate among PPP.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairperson of the PPP DPP Arsul Sani after staying in touch with the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka, at the Surakarta City Hall, last Friday, March 10.

Arsul said Erick Thohir became the most popular name and followed by Sandiaga Uno. With this consideration, the figure of the PSSI chairman will be the strongest to be promoted as a vice presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

"Mr. Erick is quite popular in PPP cawapres. Only one other area and the other is the result of various surveys. Mr. Erick is the most vice presidential candidate," said Asrul in his statement, Saturday, March 11.

When asked about the Ganjar Pranowo-Erick pair supported by PAN, Arsul admitted that the pair was also considered by the PPP DPP.

Other candidates such as Prabowo Subianto and Airlangga Hartarto are no exception. Meanwhile, for the invitation to the coalition from PDIP, his party ensures that the Kaaba parkai is open to all parties.

"For the coalition in the government, it can also be reduced and increased. What is clear is that we feel honored and grateful to be invited to form a coalition with the big PDIP party, as the government's ruler," Arsul said.

Asrul further explained that PPP wants the sustainability of development for 10 years from the current government.

This is one of the requirements in building a joint coalition. Therefore, his party is looking for a coalition that is in accordance with the current government.

"We want the continuity of development so that during these 10 years what has been done, both physical and non-physical, will not just cut off. With the principle of continuity, the possibility of a coalition will be wide open," explained Asrul.
