12.9 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine From Malaysia Failed To Be Smuggled In Bengkayang, West Kalimantan

PONTIANAK - Kodam XII/Tanjungpura through the RI-Malaysia Pamtas Task Force Battalion 645/Gardatama Yudha again thwarted the smuggling attempt of 12 packages of methamphetamine weighing 12.9 kilograms from Malaysia in the Sentabeng Village area, Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan.

"It is true that the Pamtas Battalion 645/Gyt Task Force on Friday at around 13.00 WIB managed to thwart a large number of methamphetamine smuggling efforts in the RI-Malaysia border area in the Jagoi Babang area, Bengkayang," said Head of Information for Kodam XII/Tanjungpura Colonel Ase Rizal quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 11.

Colonel Ade explained, based on a report by the Dansatgas Pamtas Infantry Battalion 645/Gty Lt. Col. Inf. Hudallah, the methamphetamine was successfully thwarted from entering Indonesian territory when Task Force personnel carried out routine patrols on border rat lanes.

"Efforts to thwart smuggling last afternoon were carried out by Pamtas personnel at the Sentabeng Pamtas Post led by Lt. Inf. Dedi and three of its members while carrying out routine patrols on Jalan Kayu Buluh, Sentabeng Village," said Kapendam.

Then he continued, at 16.45 WIB the patrol team saw one person from the direction of Malaysia, when the contact was estimated to be 50 meters away and ordered to stop. The person even ran while throwing away the luggage in the form of three bags.

"The pursuit was carried out by our patrol personnel, but the person concerned managed to enter the Malaysian area," added Colonel Ade.

Kapendam said that because the person had entered Malaysian territory, Pamtas Task Force personnel stopped the pursuit, given that the area was already at a neutral point.

Then Lt. Inf. Dedi ordered to return and check the items that were thrown away and found 12 packs of methamphetamine which turned out to contain methamphetamine packaged in nine packs of "Qinshang" tea and three packs of clear plastic.

The post commander then reported to the SSK II Company Commander, First Lieutenant Inf Prayudi Yusga Sudarno. Currently, the evidence is still being secured at the Jagoi Babang Kout Post, Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency.

"This evidence is temporarily secured and will then be handed over to BNN," said Kapendam XII/Tanjungpura.
