AG Perpetrators Are Not Present During Reconstruction, This Is KPAI's Explanation

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) supports the investigation and disclosure of the Polda Metro Jaya on cases of abuse involving minors to make it clear. Regarding whether a child with a legal conflict (ABH) was presented at the reconstruction site, KPAI stated that this was the authority of investigators that ABH on behalf of AG would be presented or not.

"KPAI sees this step in accordance with the process and mechanism regarding child protection that is actually carried out without having to be distorted in the context of the legal substance carried out by the Regional Police and understood by the organizers, namely Fathers and KPPA," said KPAI Chairman Ai Maryati Solihah to VOI, Friday, March 10.

Ai Maryati Solihah stated that anyone at the reconstruction site should be presented. This is done from what has been carried out and supervised by KPAI.

"Actually, anyone at that location should be present, this departs from what has been carried out for us to monitor. Does the substance of what investigators need not conflict with the mechanism process? We must see in the context how children who are conflict also have the right to protection," he said.

KPAI said that it had asked the police and had been consulted before making a decision regarding the absence of AG.

"There are Fathers and KPPA who are also providers of child protection for ABH (child in legal conflict) meaning that the victims and perpetrators, even the witnesses there, did not present them. So I see that is a context that must continue to be carried out. We will continue to monitor so that it does not cause distortion in the context of protection for the entire ABH, both victims and others," he said.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya would not present the perpetrator of the child, AG, in the reconstruction of the case of persecution of David Ozora. The reason is that Mario Dandy's lover is still a minor.

So, later investigators will present a replacement role to play the role of AG in the persecution case.
