The General Election Commission (KPU) revealed that it is ready to sit down with Commission II of the DPR to discuss the controversial decision of the Central Jakarta District Court (Jakpus) regarding the postponement of the election stages.

KPU member Idham Holik said his party was waiting for the official invitation of Commission II of the DPR to attend a hearing (RDP). "Indeed, yesterday we received information that we will be invited, but today the plan has not yet been completed. Therefore, we are waiting for an official invitation from Commission II of the DPR RI regarding the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court," he said at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 8, to be confiscated by Antara. Previously, on Thursday, March 2, Chairman of Commission II of the DPR RI Ahmad Doli Kurnia said, his party plans to summon the KPU who will appeal the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court which ordered the KPU to stop the implementation of the 2024 General Election stage and start from the start. "We will call the KPU because they want to appeal, only the appeal must be correct. Therefore, we will summon the KPU as the election organizer to ensure that the preparations continue," he said.

Doli conveyed that Commission II of the DPR may summon the KPU before entering a new trial period, considering that the DPR is currently in recess until March 13, 2023.
