DENPASAR - The Denpasar Police have fined 280 traffic violators for driving violations. 20 of them were foreigners, aka Caucasians, because they did not wear helmets and changed the number plates to people's names.

Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Bambang Yugo Pamungkas explained that the action was carried out according to the instructions of the Bali Police Chief. The police took action against violators of the rule, mainly Caucasians—mostly Russians—who replaced the license plates with the names of people or countries.

"Seeing traffic developments in the Kuta and South Kuta areas, we are controlling several motorized vehicles, especially vehicles that use license plates that do not comply with the regulations or vehicles that do not comply with standards", said Commissioner Bambang, Monday, March 6.

The police number is emphasized by the police as the basis for applying for electronic tickets. It's not just license plates that violate the rules, violators of road markings, road signs and even riders without helmets are penalized.

"The Denpasar Police and staff have issued 280 fines, with details of 20 foreigners and 260 fines for Indonesian citizens, both residents and those on vacation in Bali", he explained.

Commissioner Bambang detailed the violations of foreign nationals, namely 11 motorbike riders without helmets, 4 foreigners violating license plate regulations Caucasians with brong exhausts and no mirrors

"For the past 12 days, we have carried out manual ticketing activities and we have succeeded in ticketing 280 of our vehicles. 20 foreign nationals were fined or 20 people who were successful by us", he said.
