DKI Provincial Government Asked To Actively Fix Damaged Roads, Don't Just Wait For Complaints

JAKARTA - Road damage often occurs every rainy season. In Jakarta, the chairman of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the DKI Provincial Government, in this case the Bina Marga Office, to actively repair damaged roads based on direct monitoring in the field.

"Recently, almost every day the DKI area rains, increasing the potential for damaged roads or potholes. I ask the Bina Marga Office to be proactive in monitoring damaged roads, don't just wait for reports," Anggara said in his statement, quoted Friday, March 3.

Dalam beberapa kasus, jalan yang rusak di Jakarta, seperti jalan protokol tidak segera diperbaiki. Pemprov DKI berdapatkan bahwa pengelolaan jalan tersebut merupakan kewenangan pemerintah pusat, bukan pemerintah daerah.

Referring to this, Anggara asked the DKI Provincial Government to immediately coordinate with the central government if there were damaged roads belonging to the central government.

"Don't be limited to administrative problems such as certain roads that may be a matter for the Central Government, yes, the Highways Office is also actively coordinating with the center," said Anggara.

According to Anggara, repairing damaged roads is an urgency that needs to be done immediately. This is because damaged roads will be dangerous for passing car and motorbike drivers.

"This is urgent because if left unchecked it will endanger car and motorcycle drivers. Especially when roads are slippery because of the rain," he said.

According to him, fast road repairs will also reduce congestion during peak hours. Damaged roads also make motorists slow down so that they cause traffic jams," he continued.

Several damaged roads that had been highlighted by the public were the Pancoran layer road, South Jakarta and the Marunda access road, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

This was responded by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Highways Agency, Hari Nugroho. On damaged roads in the Marunda area, Hari said that this condition occurred due to heavy vehicle loads that often crossed the road.

"So there are a lot of high-intensity cars there. Then it will be raining. Automatically the road will be damaged. Indeed, in Cilincing-Marunda all of that was damaged," explained Hari on Wednesday, March 1.

However, Hari emphasized that his party had started mapping the damaged points on the road using the patching or patching method.
