JAKARTA – The national disaster management agency (BNPB) held a national coordination meeting at Jiexpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday 2 March. The National Coordination Meeting entitled "Strengthening sustainable resilience in dealing with disasters" was opened by President Jokowi and closed by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

In addition, BNPB together with industry players also held a disaster industry exhibition entitled Asia Disaster Management & Civil Protection Expo & Conference (ADEXCO). ADEXCO is an effort to increase awareness and insight of all elements of the nation regarding the use of technology in risk reduction and disaster management.

According to BNPB Deputy for System and Strategy Raditya Jati, today's activity is a follow-up to the president's message delivered during the 7th Global Platform for Disaster in Bali which was attended by 185 countries.

Mr. President invited the global community related to continuous resilience or what we call sustainable resilience. This is a voice of invitation, because our resilience is very dynamic because we often experience threats and disasters.

"Therefore, the implementation of the National Coordination Meeting this time is different from the previous National Coordination Meetings. Because we are side by side with domestic disaster industrialists. Disaster events are here, if we are not prepared how will we deal with pre and post disasters," said Raditya in a written statement, Thursday, March 2.
