JAKARTA - Member of the Steering Committee (SC) or the 2023 Formula E Jakarta Steering Committee Ahmad Sahroni views that this year's race will be smoother and will not encounter many problems. Unlike Formula E in 2022 when Sahroni served as Chairman of the Organizing Committee (OC) or the Implementing Committee. This can be seen in the planning of Formula E which will be held in 2022. The voices of the factions in the DKI DPRD at that time were divided when there was a proposal for the right of interpellation to ask Anies for an explanation regarding the transparency of the Formula E budget. "Regarding Formula E 2023, it will definitely be smoother. There will be no more politics. It will be finished in my era (in 2022)," Sahroni said at a press conference in Ancol, North Jakarta, Tuesday, February 28. In fact, according to Sahroni, this year's electric car racing event will be easier to get sponsors, especially from state-owned enterprises (BUMN). When Anies was still the Governor of DKI, no SOEs were interested in sponsoring Formula E. "I'm sure Jakpro and his team will do something different in the 2023 event and this is lighter. Hopefully SOEs will also sponsor. We really hope because there are no more politics, right. We hope that in the 2023 era there will be full support from the government to succeed Formula E," said Sahroni. For information, this year's Formula E race will be held again at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol on June 3 and 4, 2023. PT Jakpro as the BUMD organizer of Formula E again appointed the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) as the technical person in charge of this year's Formula E race. The composition of the committee has now been established. Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo was appointed as Chairman of the 2023 Formula E Steering Committee. Then, a former national racer, Ananda Mikola, was appointed as Chair of the Implementing Committee. Meanwhile, Ahmad Sahroni, who previously served as Chair of the Organizing Committee in Formula E in 2022, is now a Member of the Steering Committee. Two PDIP cadres are also included in the ranks of the 2023 Formula E Steering Committee. They are the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi and the Mayor of Medan who is also the son-in-law of President Joko Widodo, Bobby Nasution.
