KPK: Officials At The Ministry Of Finance Turns Out To Be Rich

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said many officials at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) were rich. Their wealth is said to have reached around IDR 50 billion. This was conveyed by Alexander in response to the issue of the wealth of former Ministry of Finance official Rafael Alun Trisambodo which reached Rp56 billion. He said, apart from Mario Dandy's father, many officials in the ministry have assets no less. "Yesterday I got a forward regarding officials at the Ministry of Finance, it turned out to be rich, right, like that. Some (richness, ed) up to 50 (Rp50 billion, ed), some 50 (Rp50 billion, ed), many are like that," Alexander told reporters at the KPK ACLC Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, February 28. Alexander said the wealth of these officials became the attention of the KPK. Moreover, many have reported that the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN) in the amount does not match their profile or position. However, the KPK does not only focus on officials who have a lot of assets. Officials who have little assets but make no sense are also the KPK's attention, said Alexander. Because they could cover up their assets so they are not tracked down. "This low report is not true either," he said. "Perhaps there are many assets in the name of other people and they are not reported. Because if we look at their position, they are very strategic but the report is very low, the cash value is only below Rp. 100 million, their income per month is tens of millions. Well, we are also wondering," continued Alexander. As previously reported, Rafael's wealth was in the spotlight after his son, Mario Dandy Satrio, abused 17-year-old David. The video of the persecution circulated widely on social media and caused chaos. He admitted that he was ready to be questioned regarding his wealth.
