Nearly 3,000 New Cases Of COVID-19 In DKI, This Is The Explanation Of The Provincial Government

JAKARTA - The increase in new COVID-19 cases in DKI reached a new record today, namely 2,959 cases from PCR swab specimen examinations to 14,122 people.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division, DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, Dwi Oktavia explained, the recording of new COVID-19 cases which nearly reached 3 thousand was not purely the result of today's examination.

Dwi explained, there were 755 cases that were late reported from a number of examination laboratories. The number of pure new cases today is 2,204.

"The total addition of positive cases was 2,959 cases, due to the accumulation of data as many as 755 cases from 2 private laboratories and 1 BUMN Hospital laboratory, the last 7 days were reported," Dwi said in his statement, Friday, December 8.

The distribution of cases today is in East Jakarta with 625 cases, South Jakarta with 548 cases, West Jakarta with 436 cases, North Jakarta with 356 cases, Central Jakarta with 245 cases, Thousand Islands with 9 cases.

"Also, registered addresses outside DKI Jakarta were 268 cases (9 percent) and addresses were not reported as many as 472 cases (16 percent)," he said.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in Jakarta to date is 200,658 cases. Of the total number of cases, 179,562 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 89.5 percent.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,463 people died with a death rate of 1.7 percent. This figure is below Indonesia's death rate of 2.9 percent.

The positivity rate or percentage of positive cases in the past week in Jakarta was 12.6 percent, while the percentage of positive cases in total was 9.0 percent.

"The total PCR test rate per 1 million population is 210,355. The number of people tested for PCR in the past week was 102,183," Dwi explained.

Meanwhile, on this day, new cases of COVID-19 on a national scale also reached a new record. A total of 66,619 specimens were examined with the results that there were 10,617 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today's cases increased by 7,446 so that a total of 666,883 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 233 people and a total of 23,753 people.
