Found In America, Health Becomes The Reason UII Lecturers Change Routes From Norway

JAKARTA - Lecturer at the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta, Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama (AMRP) changed the return route to the United States (US) after returning from Norway for health reasons.

"UII has examined the reasons for AMRP's health condition which was the cause of the transfer of flight routes to the United States and conveyed through AMRP's explanation in the 'e-mail' reply," said UII Chancellor Fathul Wahid in his statement, Friday, February 24, as reported by Antara.

He is grateful, because efforts to trace Rafie's whereabouts have yielded results and the person concerned has replied to the correspondence via an electronic letter sent by UII.

Through this message, according to Fathul, the Lecturer of Informatics at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering UII apologized to him and the entire UII academic community for the noise that had arisen regarding him in recent times.

"UII prays that AMRP will quickly get back to excellent health," he said.

According to him, UII will provide assistance and support for health services for Rafie if needed.

On behalf of UII, he thanked all those who have helped in tracing and disclosing the lecturer's travel case.

"Especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemlu RI), the Directorate of Protection of Indonesian Citizens of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Consulate General in New York, the Indonesian Embassy in Oslo, the Indonesian Consulate General in Istanbul, the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh, PP Muhammadiyah, the National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol Indonesia, the Indonesian National Police, and all parties that we cannot mention one by one," he said.

Previously, Ahmad, who had been said to have lost contact with his family, was found safe in the United States.

The Director of Protection for Indonesian Citizens and BHI of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu) Judha Nugraha and the Indonesian Consul General in New York Winanto Adi have established direct communication with AMRP.

"The Indonesian Consul General in New York has also met directly with him. Currently AMRP is in the US and Alhamdulillah it is safe," Judha said via text message on Friday, February 24.
