Verification Of DPD Candidates In Rejang Lebong Bengkulu Capai 83 Percent

REJANG LEBONG - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, stated that the factual verification of the support for prospective members of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia in this area reached 83 percent of the 1,823 support. "Of the 1,823 support provided by 12 candidates for DPD RI members who registered at the Bengkulu Province KPU some time ago, we have visited it entirely, but from that number there are currently 300 people or 17 percent who have not been able to meet us," said the Coordinator of the Technical Division and the Implementation of the Rebong Election Rejang Visco Putra Alexander as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 22. He explained that the number of supporters of candidates for DPD RI members in this area who have not been found have been submitted to the liaison (LO) of each candidate DPD RI member to collect them. "If the people who are not found, we will successfully collect LO later carry out factual verification. If the person is far away and is out of town, then we will use the 'video call' method. If we don't use video recordings," he explained. The supporters of the candidates for DPD RI members who were unable to be met by the KPU Rejang Lebong factual verification officers because the residents around the location do not know the person, the person has moved or has died, he explained. The implementation of factual verification of the support for DPD candidates from Rejang Lebong Regency spreads in 156 villages and sub-districts in 15 sub-districts, where the time is according to the stages carried out for 20 days from 6 to 26 February 2023, he said.

According to him, the implementation of factual verification was carried out by five teams formed by the Rejang Lebong KPU consisting of KPU commissioners, KPU staff, PPK, and PPS in each region. The factual verification pattern is carried out collectively by collecting supporters of each candidate for DPD RI member in one place and then simultaneous verification is carried out, while other patterns come to each supporter if they are successfully collected, and via video calls or video recordings from each support that are not found.
