JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to seek the origin of bribes and gratuities allegedly enjoyed by Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. They questioned four witnesses, one of whom was the Chairman of the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) Timothy Murib.

"The witnesses were present and their knowledge was investigated, among others, still related to the alleged flow of money enjoyed by the suspect LE," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday, February 22.

Apart from Timothy, the other three witnesses summoned by the KPK were commissioners, Austikarini Ambar Wati; and three housewives Heni Nurhaeni, Dani Fitri Yelepele, and Dessy Irriani Yelepele. Ali said they were also questioned regarding the purchase of assets allegedly carried out by Lukas.

"It was also confirmed that there was an asset purchase from the money the suspect received," he said.

Previously reported, Lukas became a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification for allegedly receiving money from the Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijantono Lakka. The gift was made so that the private company got a project in Papua.

The KPK said that there was a 14 percent agreement on the value of the contract and payments must be free of tax deductions.
