Former Kakanwil Of The Ministry Of Religion Of North Sumatra IZ Becomes Suspect Of Sale And Purchase Of Position

JAKARTA - The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has named the former Head of the Regional Office (Kakanwil) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) of North Sumatra with the initials IZ as a suspect in a suspected bribery case.

"At the end of last December we summoned him as a suspect. But he was not present because he was sick, his lawyer came with a sick letter," said Sumanggar Siagian, Sumanggar Siagian, Head of Public Prosecutor's Office in Medan, reported by Antara, Thursday, January 7.

He said that his party had sent back the second summons of the IZ suspect which was scheduled for Monday, January 11. "We'll see this second call," he said.

Asked in more detail regarding the alleged bribery case committed by the suspect, Sumanggar was reluctant to provide information. "The case is the sale and purchase of positions at the Ministry of Religion of North Sumatra. This is the old case, "he said.

Previously, the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office conducted an examination of IZ and two staff of the North Sumatra Ministry of Religion Regional Office on Monday (3/8). The examination was related to the alleged corruption case of buying and selling of positions at the North Sumatra Ministry of Religion Regional Office.

The alleged bribery case was revealed after reports from the public related to bribery while IZ served as Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of North Sumatra.
