Although AHY's Name Is Called, Democrats Love Jokowi's Endorse Of 2024 Presidential Election Candidates At Harlah PPP

JAKARTA - Deputy of Bappilu DPP for the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani, regretted the attitude of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the 50th Harlah of PPP. Jokowi at that time mentioned one by one the names of the candidates for the 2024 presidential election who were present.

According to Kahar, Jokowi seems to have often endorsed figures who have the opportunity to become presidential candidates (candidates) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) in 2024.

"We regret that Pak Jokowi has too often endorsed certain figures as presidential and vice presidential candidates who can influence the neutrality and professionalism of the apparatus. This should be avoided," Kamhar told reporters, Sunday, February 19.

Kamhar asked Jokowi to study with the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) who could refrain from expressing his opinion on who the potential figure was in the 2014 election, when he had served as President for two terms.

"It's good to learn from the experience of the 2014 presidential election when Pak SBY was able to hold back and protect himself from being endorsed by certain couples, both Jokowi-JK and the Prabowo-Hatta pair," he said.

"So that the elements of power can be completely neutral, and the elections can be held democratically and the transition and the transfer of power runs smoothly," continued Kamhar.

Jokowi attended the 50th PPP Harlah at ICE BSD, South Tangerang, Friday, February 17. In his remarks, Jokowi mentioned the ranks of candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

"Now it's a matter of presidential and vice presidential candidates, I want to ask who is the PPP candidate? (There are many attendees, ed). Because here all the presidential candidates, vice presidents, said Jokowi, at that time.

"What I know is Mr. Prabowo, who I also know is Mr. Erick Thohir who I also know is Mr. Sandiaga Uno, who I also know is Mr. Mahfud MD. I almost forgot about Mr. AHY, and of course there is the chairman of PPP (Mardiono)," continued Jokowi again, greeted by the boisterous attendance of the 50th PPP Harlah.

After the event, AHY responded to Jokowi's statement. AHY considers the statement made by Jokowi to be a hope and a historic opportunity. Including, also in security in the 2024 election contestation.

"Yes, I am sure that Mr. President Jokowi also has hope. Earlier, I listened to President Jokowi's remarks. Of course, I hope that the upcoming 2024 election can run well, be successful, peaceful, and not bring instability, both politically and security," said AHY at the 50th PPP Harlah location.
