AKARTA - The National Police Headquarters intervened to investigate the news of the disappearance of the lecturer at Universita Islam Indonesia (UII), Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama after participating in global mobility activities at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Pol Dedi Prasetyo, said the International Relations Division would carry out tracking related to the information.

"Hub Inter will trace first," said Dedi when confirmed.

Dedi admitted that his party had not received any information regarding this information.

"Hubinter has not received this information," he said.

Previously, it was reported that a lecturer at the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta named Ahmad Munasir Rafie Pratama (AMRP) reported missing contact after participating in global mobility activities at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Norway.

"UII continues to track in various ways and coordinate with many parties. UII asks for prayers from all parties so that AMRP's whereabouts are immediately known in a healthy and good condition," said UII Chancellor Fathul Wahid in a statement received in Yogyakarta, Saturday.

Fathul explained that the visit to the Norwegian state campus was carried out by a team from UII Yogyakarta consisting of four people, including himself, Ahmad Munasir, and two other people.

The visit to Norway was to strengthen cooperation between UII Yogyakarta and USN Norway, with funding support from the European Union through the Erasmus+ scheme.

After a week of activities at USN since Sunday (5/2), the UII team then left Norway via Garrmoen Oslo Airport (Oslo Airport) on Sunday (12/2). Fathul admitted to meeting Ahmad Munasir last time in Oslo, Norway, on Saturday night (11/2).

"The team is divided into three different flights. AMRP is alone on flights back to Indonesia, via Istanbul, Turkey," said Fathul.

According to the plan conveyed verbally, Ahmad Munasir told Fathul that his return route to Indonesia was Oslo-Istanbul-Riyadh-Istanbul-Jakarta. Ahmad Munasir did not share his flight information in detail to his colleagues or to his wife.

His trip to Riyadh was carried out because some tickets were paid for by a conference committee in Saudi Arabia which required the route. Before going to Oslo, said Fathul, Ahmad Munasir had given a keynote speech at an international conference in Jeddah.

Fathul explained that Ahmad Munasir's last communication with his wife was recorded on Sunday afternoon (12/2) on his way home, who was at Oslo Airport moments before boarding the plane to Istanbul.

"Waiting for boarding," said Ahmad Munasir's message to his wife.

Until now, Ahmad Munasir has never sent messages to his wife and colleagues again.

"Since then, AMRP has never sent messages again. Various attempts to contact through various online channels, including emails, are being pursued; but not one has responded to AMRP," added Fathul.
