An Unidentified Floating Body Found At Manggarai Water Gate

JAKARTA - South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Officers (Damkar) evacuated the body of an anonymous man who was found floating among a pile of garbage at Manggarai Water Gate, Jakarta, Thursday, January 7 morning.

"The Manggarai Water Gate officer was carrying garbage at the sluice gate and saw the corpse. Then the officer reported it to the Fire and Rescue Service," said South Jakarta Damkar Platoon Commander, Samsudin, as reported by Antara, Thursday, January 7.

When asked further about the chronology and identity of the victim, Samsudin said that a complete report had not yet been received from the members on duty in the field.

Meanwhile, information on the discovery of an unidentified corpse was also confirmed by the social media staff of the Water Agency's Water Agency's Cleanliness Implementation Unit (UPK), Manggarai Watergate Environmental Service.

According to the officer, the discovery of the corpse at around 05.00 WIB by the UPK Air Agency officer.

"Male corpse, no identification, estimated in his 30s," said the officer.

At the time of the incident, the UPK Water Agency officers were carrying out routine tasks of dredging the garbage stuck at the floodgates when it had rained since the night.

The water level at the Manggarai Sluice Gate is still classified as normal, namely 630 centimeters (cm). The amount of waste transported has reached one tronton track, two large rites and two small rites.

The dredging activity was stopped because of the discovery of the corpse. After the bodies were evacuated, the officers returned to work dredging rubbish from the water.

The evacuation of the unidentified man's body was completed at 07.50 WIB.
