Ease Of Accessing Social Media So The Reason For PMI In Advanced Countries Is Prone To Radical Pahams

JAKARTA - Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who work in developed countries are prone to exposure to moral understanding. The reason is, they have convenience in internet access, including social media.

This was conveyed by the Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Komjen Boy Rafli Amar.

Boy said the vulnerability was because many radical narratives were spread through social media. PMIs are considered easy to access radically charged content.

"Migrant workers are quite vulnerable to exposure to radicalism. This is because the content of radical narratives is widely found on social media, while migrant workers in developed countries are easier to access the internet," Boy said in a written statement, as quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 18.

He mentioned the latest case that occurred in January, where a PMI was deported from Singapore for allegedly being exposed to radicalism. Boy explained that the Indonesian citizen was deported for continuing to spread content containing radicalism on social media.

"This confirms that anyone, including migrant workers, could be exposed to radicalism," he added.

The former head of the Papuan Police added that every citizen must have an understanding of the characteristics and characteristics of radical, intolerant, and terrorism groups in order to avoid radicalism.

In addition, he continued, it is important for every Indonesian citizen to know the national vaccine, which consists of transformation of national insight, revitalization of Pancasila values, diverse moderation, preservation of national cultural roots, and transformation of development.

"We invite all elements of the nation in this country to remain vigilant about the terrorism virus," said Boy Rafli.

He said BNPT faced limitations in the midst of the growing radicalism in society.

Therefore, BNPT continues to embrace various parties, both in the forum for the synergism team of ministries and non-ministerial government agencies as well as the wider community, by implementing the concept of multi-party cooperation to prevent radical ideologies.
